| This guy was so named for two reasons. I had named
his half sister Finale as I thought she was Bud's last foal. A few months
later Mystery turned out to be Bud's "encore" (and this time was really his
last foal). The Mystery nickname is due to his color. He was born a dark
chocolate, shed out black, and this past year roaning became more noticeable
in the flank area and over his hips. I still don't know exactly what his
color will be, but hopefully he will end up a blue roan. His dam and grand-dam
were both roans from birth. He also has black, grullo and dun in his background.
So color remains a "mystery". His only white is on one heel. He is halter
broke, stands for grooming and veterinary care. Mystery is quite a character,
quick to learn, very friendly. |
